First class in NITIE: Arrreyy CHHIII CHHIIII CHIHIIIIIIIIII !!!

From Title most of the people might get impression that what a horrible experiences it would have been.
Was it really bad that I’m using those magnificent Hindi words?

Absolutely not!!
It was the mind boggling start of my MBA journey. Just now got to know why there is much hype in the “God’s own campus” about Dr MANDI.
No it’s not his real name but people call him with utmost respect and why notthe popular "MANDI" event is brainchild of him. Actually he is Mr T Prasad in short TP.

I left my hostel at around 8:40 after having breakfast, which has been deleted off my dictionary for past two years. I was moving with two friends, all three of us has different section and no one knew where to move and we landed  in wrong building. After some hide and seek session with the old 90’s lift we arrived to the destination just on time. Board displaying room no was hanging in front of closed door and it seemed that professor has reached. Somehow with hope entered to the gateway of my new journey and as I entered I saw fully occupied classroom with my fellow mate still eyes were rolling to find if any professor is there. After realizing professor has not arrived yet, I sighed a breath of relief.

After that I didn’t had any laid-back time. A bald guy might be in his late 40’s entered in classroom with sum stuffs in his kit, gave his introduction and after that threw two soft balls to us and shouted play with it and picked some toys and distributed to students. I was astonished and thought “what the hell is going on”. Some people got the ideas that he might be Dr MANDI and some gutsy one asked   ”Sir, are you u Dr MANDI?” He passed a smile slyly and said “yes I’m, so u all must have seen some videos and heard about me in from seniors.”

Even after break of two year of study I didn’t fell asleep in class that too of two hours. Dr Mandi gave a lot of jargon regarding for what we are here, what is management, why is there need to become self-employer. He taught the importance of earning while learning and quoted one line “aaj ki roti aaj hi kamana.”We calculated our opportunity cost for doing MBA and it came out approximately around 2500 per day that means we are spending that much of amount so we should be able to at least try to earn to compensate it. Ultimately person doing MBA wants to earn money not just needs learning.
According to Dr MANDI: Top priorities for MBA student:
  •     Money
  •    Placements
  •     Marks
  •       Learning

This is perfectly practical thing for MBA students and always has to be kept in mind.
One more tagline used by him: “Becho Socho,Socho Sikho,Sikho Socho”.It depicts the importance of learning through practical approach. If one tries something or do something then only he get to know all the intricacies involved and learn how to improvise.

That’s how my first class went…..
I will always remember this first class of NITIE and why not such a special one it was.
I will remember it not only for the unconventional methodology of teaching but more for the learning inculcated in me.
